Sound Transformation

The Conscious Artistry of Tibetan Singing Bowls

The Tibetan singing bowls appear to originate in pre-buddhist shamanic culture.  This culture dates back between 3000 – 5000 years.

In modern times, the bowls continue to be made in the regions of Bhutan, Nepal, India and Tibet. The original bowls were hand-cast and forged from 7 metals which correspond to the 7 known (inner) planets.
These are:  Gold – Sun; Silver – Moon; Mercury – Mercury; Copper – Venus; Iron – Mars; Tin – Jupiter; Lead – Saturn.

There are many uses for Tibetan Singing Bowls such as Sound Healing for both groups and individuals as well as space clearing. Tibetan Singing Bowls are especially helpful for creating greater focus, personal meditation, calming the mind, opening the heart and energizing an intention. The experience of each person varies greatly.  Singing Bowls are powerful tools for holistic healing practitioners for re-balancing the energy centers in the body (chakras) and for centering. The bowls can also be used at the beginning and end of yoga practice, to enhance a breathing meditation, to aid in massage therapy and for use in all spiritual practices.
